Zachary’s senses heightened the second before his ring pulsed through his hand with warning. He’d been unable to sleep for the past month due to nightmares and constant pulsing from his ring. Amanda would come in his room hearing his yells in his sleep, she was always worried about him lately, and Zachary felt guilty for it. Zach and Amanda both knew austere events were coming, and they were both uneasy. Faye had started teaching them everything she knew and showing them her fathers books and research. She never looked or acted cheerless even though the children both knew she was depressed
